OPENING DAY ANNOUNCED
The weather outlook is optimistic, and our plan is to open the hard courts on Monday April 17. For the first two weeks, hours will be from 11:30am to 7:30pm Monday to Saturday and 11:30am to 4pm on Sunday, with public hours on Sunday from 4pm to 7.30pm. You’ll be able to reserve courts online starting Friday April 14. Meanwhile, the clay courts will be receiving their annual service for play in early May, when we’ll return to regular hours.
MEET THE TEAM
We’re thrilled to have Ira Sherman returning as Director of Tennis Operations this year, as well as Lorenzo Grecchi, Mike Kosowski and Courtney Winter as Assistant Tennis Professionals. If you’re interested in private or semi-private lessons with them, please reach out.
CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
Many hands make light work! Interested in helping us get set for the season? Come out on Saturday April 15 between 2pm and 5pm to help with some light ground work and annual chores. BYOGG (bring your own gardening gloves). We'd also like to send a big shoutout to members Rob and Shane Storey for helping to put together some new accessories for the club this past weekend - thanks, you two!
SOCIALS ARE ON
This year, we’ll be hosting a Senior Day Social every Tuesday from May 9th to June 20th, and again in fall. We’re also bringing back Wednesday and Saturday Evening Socials from 7pm - 10pm, starting in May and running throughout the season. It’s one of the best ways to meet players with similar skill sets and get into the camaraderie of the club.
LADDERS ARE A GO
Love playing singles? Ladders are another great way to get competitive, meet other members and improve your match-playing skills. Register for Open (mixed) and Women’s Ladders between May 1 and May 10 via your Kew account. Find more information here.
CLINICS ARE FILLING UP FAST...
Anyone wanting to hone their skills with the help of a pro should check out our lineup of evening clinics. Session 1 is almost full, but there’s still availability in Session 2, so book your spot today! We’ll be opening more sessions once the season gets started.
LOOKING FOR A GAME?
Expand your tennis circle and find players with similar skill sets and schedules. Kew’s free service will be available on our website and Facebook page when the club opens. Simply post your NTRP rating, availability and interest in singles or doubles – and find your match!
